About The Brass Needle
Owning my own embroidery shop had been a dream of mine for many
years. The shop was conceived when Rachel Greco & myself were
members of a cooperative in Dallas, that shop was Oregon Maid.
When Rachel decided to venture out on her own, and opened Grandma's
Attic Sewing Emporium Inc., in Dallas, Oregon, she asked me if
I would like to teach embroidery classes. I jumped at the opportunity
and in February of 1996, The Brass Needle became " a shop
within a shop at Grandma's Attic".
In January of 2007, I relocated my shop at my home. My new address
is 2074 SE Joseph Lane * Dallas, OR 97338 . I love working from
my home and I believe that my customers will fall in love with
"the embroidery shop with a country view".
I am a 4th generation needle art person. My Grandmother, Ora
O'Dell Danniel- Ball taught me how to embroider when I was about
5 or 6 years old and I have kept at it for more than half a century.
Stitching allows me to relax after my busy work day.
I truly enjoy teaching embroidery to
anyone who is interested, from 9 to 90 years of age. I believe
that hand Embroidery is a dying art and I hope that this art form
will be carried over into the next generation. I teach beginning
and advanced class in Basic, Silk Ribbon, and Brazilian Embroidery;
Candlewicking, and Cutwork, just to name a few. My oldest Grand-daughter,
Sydney is now learning how to embroider. As you can see - "I
just love to hand stitch!"
The Brass Needle offers - Needle Art Notions, DMC (Rayon &
Cotton) Floss, Silk Ribbon and Silk Floss, Metallic and Variegated
Floss and Brazilian Embroidery Threads. Jack Dempsey stamped goods,
Aunt Martha Hot Iron-on Transfer patterns. Bareroots, Cotton Pickin'
Designs and The Freckles Collection embroidery patterns and much,
much, more.
Thank you for supporting The Brass Needle!
